Project: Autism Understood

About the Project

Autism Understood is a website about autism, for autistic young people. The project has developed over time, from an accessible online library of information and articles, to a structured course for young people, alongside training that enables professionals to deliver the course in their own settings.

My Involvement

I’ve contributed to Autism Understood across all three stages of its development. Initially, I wrote and edited several articles for the website, covering topics including ADHD, PMDD, and self-harm, among others. I also ran feedback groups with young people so that they could contribute to articles and ensure that their voices remained at the centre of the project.

I later contributed to the development and delivery of the Autism Understood course for young people, before developing training materials to equip professionals to deliver the course externally.

You can view the website below, and if you’d like to know when I’ll next be running the course for young people, you can join my mailing list!
