Download: The Backpack Tool (Barriers to Education)

Barriers to Education | 2025

‘The Backpack Tool’ is a strengths-based reflective tool that I  designed to support conversations with children and young people who may be finding school attendance, relationships, or life in general a bit difficult. Inspired by the idea that we all carry different things with us (some helpful, some heavy), this visual resource invites young people to explore their experiences in a safe, creative, and collaborative way.

I did the graphic design for most of the Young People’s tools on the Barriers to Education website, but for this one I also created it from scratch and wrote the wording for it as well, not just the visual design!
